This project is conceived as a dialogue between memory and innovation—an architectural approach shaped by my deep appreciation for the Athenian and Mediterranean apartment buildings of the 1960s, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The use of glass blocks, a defining element of that era, is reintroduced not as nostalgia, but as a refined tool for diffused light, privacy, and identity. At the same time, the building embraces Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) as its primary structural system, reflecting a conscious commitment to advanced, sustainable construction. CLT offers exceptional thermal performance, structural integrity, and environmental responsibility, creating spaces that maintain comfort throughout the year while significantly reducing the building’s ecological footprint. Every design decision—from the volumetric composition to the integration of light and material—has been approached with care, precision, and a genuine love for the craft of architecture. The result is a contemporary residential building that bridges past and future, combining the warmth of familiar typologies with the intelligence of new technologies, and ultimately redefining urban living through a more sustainable and human-centered perspective.
