Design Curation: Ioanna Tsigeni, Eirini Andri
Designed as a refined contemporary residence rooted in warmth, simplicity, and timeless living, this apartment renovation embraces a minimalist Mediterranean aesthetic through the careful balance of natural materials, soft lighting, and curated furnishings. The project was inspired by the existing wooden flooring, which became the foundation of the entire interior palette, guiding the selection of light-toned furniture, warm textures, and understated architectural details that enhance rather than overpower the space. Conceived as an open-plan living environment, the design avoids excess and visual noise, focusing instead on spatial calmness, natural flow, and a carefully edited composition of custom-made furniture pieces that elevate everyday living through craftsmanship and proportion. A central element of the home is the vintage dining table — a meaningful piece the client wished to preserve and integrate into the contemporary narrative of the apartment — creating a dialogue between memory, modernity, and authenticity. Soft ambient lighting, minimal detailing, and integrated storage solutions reinforce the sense of quiet luxury, transforming the residence into a serene urban retreat that reflects contemporary high-end interior design in Heraklion, Crete.
