Private Residence | Limnos Island | Greece.

Located in the arid, sun-drenched landscape of Limnos, this residence represents a masterful synthesis of Aegean vernacular and contemporary spatial design. The architecture is defined by a striking volumetric interplay: heavy, stereotomic stone masonry firmly anchors the structure to the site’s topography, while expansive, transparent glass planes deliberately dissolve the threshold between the interior and the surrounding natural environment. At the project’s conceptual core is the prominent exterior staircase, an architectural gesture that honors traditional Greek island typology. By externalizing the circulation, the design not only maximizes interior spatial efficiency but also revives the historical role of the staircase as a dynamic social threshold—transforming the simple act of ascending the home into a continuous, experiential engagement with the Mediterranean climate and landscape.
