Location: Hatzidaki, Heraklion, Crete, Greece
Design and Production: ioarchstudio
Information: An array of playfulness in one space. The playfulness is translated into the space by means of color, form, and furniture design. The colors of the space are inspired by Minoan culture and architecture, the terracotta deep blues and light yellows, which also catch the eye of a passerby who has just finished visiting the archaeological sites and museums nearby. The organic forms of the windows create a compelling feature in the double height nook, where the cashier lays- emphasizing the uniqueness of the space as one ends their trip around the shop. Last, but not least, the modular furniture allows for flexibility and playfulness in the space. None of the furniture is connected permanently. What connects each module is the panel of glass that slides through and rests on these modules, allowing the owner to recreate the arrangement to their liking.
