Design Curation: Ioanna Tsigeni
Located in Heraklion, Crete, this contemporary apartment renovation was conceived as a high-end spatial reorganization and curated reconstruction of the client’s previous living environment. The project focused on redefining the apartment through improved interior planning, open-plan living, and a refined minimalist aesthetic while carefully preserving selected furniture, artworks, and meaningful objects from the client’s former residence. Rather than creating a completely new identity, the design embraces the concept of architectural curation — integrating existing elements into a contemporary Mediterranean interior with warmth, authenticity, and timeless character. Through custom-made storage solutions, soft ambient lighting, neutral material palettes, and carefully composed furniture arrangements, the apartment achieves a balance between modern luxury and personal memory. The redesigned layout enhances natural light, circulation, and spatial continuity, creating a calm and elegant atmosphere tailored for contemporary urban living. This residential interior project reflects a sophisticated approach to high-end apartment renovation in Crete, where architecture becomes a framework for curated domestic living and understated luxury.
